« on: Tuesday 10 June 08 13:15 BST (UK) »

Hi and welcome to Toni*'s Second Chance Scavenger Hunt........this is going to be a really interesting Hunt for you all, but I'm sure you will come up with some surprises for Toni*.

Please, also read the extra on the end, this is important.

Good Luck and Good Hunting.

Barbara

                                     ******************************

This is what I know to be true

My 2 x great gran
Fanny Elizabeth Farmer was born 26.12.1869 at Little Potniano Foord Fletching East Sussex, she was bp. 03.07.1870 at Danehill
The illegitimate child of Elizabeth Farmer
On 08.02.1891 she married Alfred James Punnett at Danehill
her fathers details were left blank on both the birth and marriage cert.
the witnesses at her wedding were relations of the groom.
1891 RG12 792 10 15
1901 RG13 908 47 16
I can not find her in 1871 or 1881

This is NOT confirmed

Fanny had a sister, also illegitimate, Harriett Amelia Farmer who was bp. 16.02.1873 at Horsted Keynes and who is 1881 is living with her mothers sister Harriett Farmer (b.1840) by then Harriett Hatfield and her family in Fletching.
1881 RG11 1055 72 16
1891 RG12 786 155 9
Not found in 1901 – presume. married

Elizabeth was 1 of 16 children born to John b. circa 1813 Chelwood Gate & Harriett Unknown b. circa 1817
John Farmer died after 1881 and Harriett before.

I would like to confirm the above,

I have other info. for the Farmers none of which is confirmed but it goes back to circa 1755 for the birth of Fannys 2 x great grandfather
I would also like to try and confirm this but suggest we do it in stages.

I just wanted to add I have not found Fanny on the census with Elizabeth, her mother, Elizabeths year of birth 1846 comes from the information that has been given to me.

I know her mother to be Elizabeth from the birth cert.

I did find Elizabeth b. 1846 in 1871 when she should have had Fanny with her, she was working as a servant
.

This next bit is an extra    :D

my Paternal 2xgreat grandmother

Amelia Pascoe was bp. 31.10.1815 St Marys Wesleyan Truro
the d/o of James Pascoe and Ann Andrew (i think Ann was b. circa 1791) ,
James & Ann married 11.05.1808 Kenwyn
other children of James & Ann were:
Susanna b. 06.05.1811 bp. 21.01.1812 St Marys Truro - NOT to be confused with SusannaH b. 1812
Joseph b. 02.06.1817 bp. 29.06.1817 St Marys buried 29.11.1819 aged 2 Kenwyn
Joseph bp. 05.10.1823 Saint Marys-Wesleyan, Truro, Cornwall, England

I know of Amelias life (after 1834 i.e. her marriage) but her parents and siblings i know nothing other than stated above can anyone fill in the missing gaps
pleaseeeeeeeeee

She appears to be at RG11 1068 141 11 in Newick on the 1881 as a domestic servant.  Its the only one I can see born in Fletching.

NO ok, ignore that, sorry, I've seen two birth registrations one in March 1865 presumably this one and then yours in March 1870.

Hmmm

One bit I can confirm is that John Farmer married Harriet Chatfield on 16 February 1834 at Fletching.  He was a bachelor and she was a spinster both of this parish and by banns.

Incidentally I've just found both John and Harriet alive on the 1881 census with son Richard at RG11 906 5 4 in Shoreham, Kent.  It appears to be them because he is born Fletching and she Lindfield.
