HI All

I am researching the Boswell & Lock families.
I have the Boswells on the 1901 Wales Census  RG13  5247  83  9

Sarah Boswell age 40 Widow   Travelling Gypsies
Joseph Boswell age 19
Agers Boswell age 9
Sarah Boswell  age 7
Dora Boswell age 14

I have the Marriage Certificate for DORA BOSWELL who married a JOSEPH LOCK in 1916
DORA's fathers name on the marriage cert, is JOSEPH BOSWELL
Any information would be very much appreciated.

hi pughy,
just wondered if you know the husband of sarah boswell,widow 40. it might help to know which boswell she was married to and maybe her maiden name. does it state on the marriage of dora who her father was?

sorry, mis-read the message, just seen that her father was joseph boswell.....apologies.

would think that they must have had more children than is listed as there is quite a gap in ages between the children, which is not thre usual for the gypsies........is it?
on the census that you have found them on are there other boswells....?

Hi Pughy
I have the following Convict BOSWELL to Western Australia. He may fit in somewhere.- ROSER

BOSWELL William (No 403)  born 1811 married in England with 2 children, occupation Clogger. Convicted at Salford 23.10.1848 of Larcency sentenced to 7 years. Transported to Western Australia. Arrived per the vessel “Pyrenees” 28.6.1851. Conditionaly pardoned 28.6.1851, Sentenced expired Sept 1856 in Perth.. He worked as a labourer and employed a ticket of leave well sinker at York in 1864. He applied for outdoor relief 23.5.1880. He died 3.2.1882 in York Western Australia (See Convicts in Western Australia & Bicentennial Dictionary of Western Australian.- Erickson & O’Mara & Erickson)

i have dora boswell married to john lovell in 1915 6 years after the birth of her first child harriet ellenin 1908.
have also been to her grave in mold. where she lies with her husband and one of her sons.
do you have any other details about her father
