Hello eadaoin,

Toby Breslin was interned at Frongoch and Wakfield.

There are a couple of books about Frongoch ....
1. "With the Irish in Frongoch" by W J Brennan Whitmore (1917)
2. "Fron-Goch and the birth of the IRA" by Lyn Ebenezer, Gwas Carreg Gwalch
www.irishdemocrat.co.uk/book-reviews/fron-goch-and-ira

Dick Humphreys was interned at Wakefield and made notes on toilet paper.
These were about "Easter Week in the GPO
They were published in the "Belvederian", 1917.

I was able to read the books on Frongoch in the Gilbert Library - Lyn Ebenezer's book led me to
"Frongoch, University of Revolution" by Sean O'Mahony which lists a large number of the internees, including cousin Toby (tho' at a different address from gormangenealogy's )
- also a reference to a cousin of my Dad's
- and a bibliography that I can follow up later.

Thanks

Hi Eadaoin,

Toby Breslin was my maternal grandfather.  I was 23 when he died and always lived close to him - and with him throughout summer 1973 - so I knew him quite well.

hi Paul

nice to hear from you! Toby is some sort of cousin of my husband's (probably third cousins)- another cousin has a photo of him as a young man.
but unfortunately the Parish register which would tie our branch to Toby's properly has gone missing many years ago.

when you've made 3 posts, I'll be able to send you a personal message.
