Ah

Think it's solved. It was Wem and Whitchurch until 1853. Then became Whitchurch.

So only one couple - the one we have  :)

Maybe Pete - so we're looking for an Ellen/Eleanor etc. Woodhall b. Whitchurch.

Looks very likely, Pete. I'll put it up for Graham. Unfortunate surname!

Longslow
Citation as yours

Thomas Shitt,, widr, 53, ag lab, b. Whitchurch
Eleanor Jarvies, boarder, 44, widow, b. Whitchurch
Emeler(?) Jarvies, boarder, 5, b. Mkt Drayton
Mary E jarvies, boarder, 3, b. Mkt Drayton

I wonder if  both the James died.

The one you found died 1854 so what about the girls   :-\

Gosh you have been busy.

Sorry I have been offline for a bit. Looks as if my question raised a few problems. Wem is an adjoining parish as far as I know
 ::)

The reference to the marriage is from the IGI. It is Eleanor Woodhall. There is no reference to any baptisms of children of James and Eleanor in IGI but it may be that she is listed as Ellen.

Many thanks

The children will most likely be listed on FreeBMD, Garaham:
