Elizabeth Stewart/Michael McNally
« on: Tuesday 08 September 09 18:38 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I'm looking for information about my great-grandparents Elizabeth Stewart and Michael McNally who married in 1902 in Belfast . They had five daughters, Elizabeth, Mary, Anne, Jean and Alice and one son, Michael.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Lorraine

Welcome to Rootschat. 1911 census is available online (free)- have you found the family there yet?

Thanks for your reply.

I have actually got a copy of this marriage certificate. It gives the fathers' names as Henry McNally and Bernard Stewart. I have struggled to find further details for Henry or Bernard.

Any ideas about how to trace the McNally and Stewart family lines further back?

What is given for residences of bride and groom on the marriage certificate? fathers' occupations- and groom's?
If they lived in Belfast I'll move this thread to Antrim board (were he keep Belfast information) to save you from posting another query.

Have moved this thread to Antrim board now. Have you found them in 1911 census? If so please let us know where they were living and what else we can help you with.

Hi,

I believe my great-grandfather was a master weaver or spinner and the whole family relocated to France for a number of years (probably around 1910-1915) for my great-grandfather to train people in france in his skill. Due to this the family do not appear inthe 1911 census.

I have the McNally family history following their return from France.

I am searchimg for information prior to the Stewart/McNally marriage in 1902.

Thanks

Lorraine

I think this may be your Michael and Elizabeth in 1911 at Sheriff Street married 8 years it says the address was 47 sheriff Street but it was actually 63 Sheriff street.......... number 47 on form B, the transcribers seem to be making this mistake a lot thats why i always check
Additional Pages: 2  (form B)

the transcribers have michael as 58 but when you read the original page you can clearly see it says 38
