Missing Aunt.??
« on: Sunday 15 November 09 17:10 GMT (UK) »
 :) ::)

 Can anyone help with ideas where to look for an 'Aunt' who arrived
in New York City in 1930, I wonder if she married,had a family,died,
etc,etc, I have tried Soc/Seq/Death/Index to no avail as I have no
married name etc,etc,,,

'Mary Thomson Turner'(b) 1908 Glas/Scot;(F)??(M)Isabella m/s Thomson;
Mary arrived  May 5/1930 aboard the 'Cameronia' at Ellis Island she gave
her 'uncle/cousin'?? as sponsor,,, "Hugh Forrester Thomson" living in
Hudson,Kearney,New Jersey with wife 'Sarah' and child. Hugh F.Thomson
was a machine/mechanic emmigrated to 'NY' 1929;

Mary T.Turner was a 'shop-assistant' and it's believed she lived & worked
in 'New Jersey',,,any input on this very much appreciated, thank you.

Kind regards;
Janey; :D

HI SANDRA;

Thank you so much for the info on 'Mary ' and it does look like
she may never have married,, I did see the 'Turner' name on
'Soc/Seq' but did not connect it as I thought she may be listed
under a married name,,,
I do know she made the trip back to Scot. in '1933' together with
'Jane Thomson' another cousin she emmigrated with,, and to think
she was living out in New Jersey till 1995,,,wow,!!!

Any chance you can find more info on 'Hugh & Sarah Thomson' in
New Jersey,,, and young 'David Thomson',,??? who is he,,??

Appreciate very much your help Sandra,, cleared up a mystery,thanks,,

Kind regards;
Janey; ;D

Hi Janey.

Would the name Jane Travers Thomson have any significance - a few passenger entries for her to New York ?

The name on the 1930 passenger list is David Black Thomson.

So this would be a possible death record for that name:-

David Black Thomson.
Birth Date: 7 Sep 1909.
Death Date: 28 Nov 1990.
Lee. Florida.
Age 81 years.

HI SANDRA & SHELLYESQ;

 Thank you both very much for all the info,, the name Jane Travers Thomson
does not ring any bells,, the Jane Thomson,domestic was the correct one,
they went their seperate ways after landing, but did meet up with two other
girls, and the 'four' of them made the trip in 1933-35.??  on SS Caledodia,,,,

How did you find the travel dates  Sandra,,,???  do you have a list  of
 passengers on the 'ship',,??  Reason I ask I have a picture of the 'four'
girls all dressed to the nines at the 'dock's before boarding the ship and I
had no names except my aunt, I know it was 1933 or 35' she made a trip
to Scotland,,,,

Hugh F.Thomson info is great, I know he had children 'Mary'(b)Scot; & 'Hugh
(b) 1933 NJ; my info was he is the brother of 'Mary T.Thomson's mother;

The 'David Black Thomson does not ring any bells at the moment but I will check my files,,thank you for the info on him,

Kind regards;

Janey; 8
