COURT/MORRIS Family
« on: Sunday 04 July 10 17:39 BST (UK) »
I've hit a bit of a brick wall and would appreciate any help.  I am investigating my brother-in-law's family, surname COURT.

His Grandfather, George Court (b c 1870 Wookey, Somerset) married a Sarah Jane Morris on 16th October 1894 in Bridgend where their residence is noted as 26 Marian Street, Blaengarw.

His father, Charles was born in Summerfield Hall Farm, Maesycwmmer in 1908, as I believe were Charles' two sisters and brother, Annie Maud(1906), Harold (1912) and Edith M (1914).

My interest is in tracing Sarah Jane Morris backwards as the only one I have matched so far does not seem correct.  Sarah Jane's father is noted as Thomas William Morris on the marriage certificate.

I can't find them on the 1901 census.

Using the 1911 free index shows a possible son Thomas George b 1896 Annie Maud 1907 and Charles 1909

The family are living in Newport Monmouthshire

USING THE FREE 1911 INDEX

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

Once you find the right person - make a note of the county and district in which they were living

Return to the index and in PERSONAL DETAILS - just put the surname of the family - nothing else

In LOCATION - Select the county and below it - type in the district

In OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD - show the name of the person you have found on the index

Click SEARCH
