John Robson & Jane Calvert 1819
« on: Friday 27 August 10 12:21 BST (UK) »
Hello All
Maybe someone can help with this Query
John Robson married Jane Calvert in 1819 in Monkwearmouth.
they had a child also called John in April 1838 in Sunderland, he was born in Johnson St  Sunderland, he was Baptised in June 1838, i dont whether there are more children to this family, but i cant find any more info on this family.
Sorry this is all I have, I also couldnt find them on the 1841 Census.
Thanks Allan

Hi
What a long time between marriage and child.  I assume you have his birth certificate?  What was his father's occupation?

This might be a tough one.  Have you looked at baptisms in Bishopwearmouth?  There are several children to a John and Jane Robson but I don't know what the occupation is of the father.  I did find a John and Jane, glassmaker, in the 1841 census:  HO107/310/9 folio 19, page 37 but the last child born was a Robert and there was already another John.  Also a baptism in Bishopwearmouth of a John Robson 1 July 1838 s/o John and Jane

These are children baptised of a John and Jane Robson in BWM

Angus- 23 Dec 1832 (or could be Agnes)
Dorothy- 18 Oct 1835
John- 1 July 1838
Margaret Isabella- 31 July 1828
Mary Elizabeth 13 Aug 1837
Robert- 12 Oct 1834
Thomas- 8 Nov 1835

Bishopwearmouth is not in the on line BT's.

Hi Janis
Thanks for your reply
This a census i looked at but like you only found a Robert born 1838, the 1st July Baptism is the John and Jane i am looking for, the birth was 15th April 1838, yes it looks like being a tough one.

I have seen census where the names were a bit mixed up.

This what i am wondering, it could be the answer, if the family could be found on the 1851 census it would confirm it either way.

Thanks
Allan
