Gibraltar Evacuees
« on: Sunday 12 September 10 16:02 BST (UK) »
I have family who were evacuated to Northern Ireland in the 1940s during WWII.

I am particularly looking for any information about Anthony Alvez or his family who were evacuated to either Ballymena or Downpatrick.

I'd love to know any information about how I can find which camp he was evacuated to, the life inside these camps in Northern Ireland and the whereabouts of his grave. I have heard it's in Downpatrick, but I cannot be certain.

Can anyone help?

Thank you for that link. I found it before and it was great to see what camps were in NI. It is a very interesting article and I contacted the magazine in case they could help me. They have been really kind and are looking for any info they can find out.

I have since found out from Hospital records that he was at Camp 10 in Aghnacully, however, i still haven't found out anything about the camp, nor where he is buried.
He is very illusive and I can't seem to find any death records for him.
