Thank you Sandy for the additional info

Bozeat marriage  06 Jan 1772
Richard PARTRIDGE, otp to Mary TROMAN otp

regarding the above... there is a FreeReg baptism at Bozeat of Mary Troman on 7 Jan 1753, daughter of William & Frances Troman. That ties in nicely with Richard P's baptism year of 1751.  FreeReg also has 2 more baptisms to William & Frances Trowman, of William in 1762 & John 1764.

The IGI has a member submission of marriage at Bozeat on 11/10/1752 of William Truman to Frances Leach - can you confirm the marriage.

...... Now back to Richard Partridge & Mary Boddington; on the Bozeat baptism of their son John on 7 Apr 1745, it states son of Richard, junior - thus I assume his father is also Richard (* & still alive in 1745) . I've yet to find the parents of Richard born around 1717. Any ideas ?

regards John

Hi John.

The only baptism of a Richard in the time scale you
want is from the Northants Bap Indexes.

Denton C of E

20 Dec 1719
Richard PARTRIDGE s of Thomas & Mary

In Bozeat it self this one isn't in the time frame.

Bozeat C of E BT Entry

05 Mar 1728
Richard PATRIDGE s of Francis & Anne

Thanks again Sandy,    however I still reckon the father of Richard (who married Mary Boddington) is also a Richard - based on Richard, junior being the named father on the baptism of son John 1745.

But I have no evidence that he was born 1717 - this, I think, I got from an IGI member submission of his 1742 marriage, but thinking that he would be at least 21 at the marriage I am looking for birth year prior to 1721. This IGI entry also has death/burial date for Richard as 17 Mar 1777 - whiich there is one for on the Bozeat PR, however there are other Richard burials in that period, none of which give an age or relative of... So why choose that particular one?

It might help if we can find baptism of Mary Boddington to gauge Richard's birth year - I have one that suggests 1718 (to tally with the 1717 Richard !) From the Rushden Heritage site there are Bozeat baptisms of children of Robert & Mary Boddington between 1719 & 1728 - but not a Mary.

Anther IGI member submission for Richard P (1717) suggests his parents were Richard & Katherine Partridge. These did baptise a Bolt P at Bozeat on 15 Nov 1724 but I have found no other children for them or their marriage. There is a marriage at Turvey in 1721 that could fit, see...

Hi again John.

As to Richard there is no other info I can give you than
already answered in previous reply.

Certainly no confirmation to the I.G.I. information you note.

Maybe I have missed it and someone else maybe able to assist.

Sorry.

Dear Sir,

I came across your series of e-mails on the Partridges of Bozeat while doing a Google search.  I am a direct descendant of Francis Partridge & Mary Rowley.  I come through their son William Partridge who married Elizabeth Cook of Mears Ashby.  William migrated to Elsworth in Cambridge.  His daughter Betsy Partridge is my gg mother.  She was married twice 1) Sergeant Henry Donn of the 80th Foot and 2) Thomas Baxter Dawson of Stapleford, Leicester.  Thomas & Betsy emigrated to the United States in 1874 first to the state of Iowa and then to the state of North Dakota.

I have done extensive work on the Partridge line in Bozeat and amd more than willing to share what I have with you.  Yes, I have reached the same conclusion you have about Richard Partridge & mary Boddington.  It is unfortunate for us that the Bozeat PR prior to 1729 was destroyed in a fire.  I have also used the Bozeat BTs which start in 1712.

Thank you,

Hello Edwin,  Thanks for the message & welcome to RootsChat.

I would be interested in any info of Partridges in Bozeat (or that area of Northants). I have no direct connection to this family, I am trying to link my own Partridge family line from Sharnbrook in north Bedfordshire to this lot. I can track my line back to Mark Partridge baptised 1725 Sharnbrook son of Francis & Elizabeth - but have no idea where they came from.

I have tracked another group of Partridges who were in Sharnbrook at the same time, back to Wollaston & Easton Maudit (who I suspect originally were from Bozeat).

I have my tree on Genes Reunited - do you use that ?
