BRADSHAW, Benjamin J and Joseph A
« on: Sunday 26 September 10 12:58 BST (UK) »
The above-named are my grandfather's brothers who emigrated to the USA in 1889/99.  Their father Benjamin Bradshaw was a London City Missionary.  I am trying to trace the line of the family in the USA.  They visited the UK in 1922 and 1930 and I have photographs of that visit.  Benjamin lived in Erskin, Minnesota at some stage and Joseph travelled from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  I believed they had connections in Oakland.

Thank you so very, very much.  I now have more info than I have ever had.  I have a newspaper cutting for the son, Benjamin Joseph Bradshaw, dedication service in Polk County.  No date but killed in action - wounds - battle of Argonne forest.  Awarded Croix de guerre.  Would be brilliant if all the info we have could be related to descendants.

Hello Halestreet,

Your very welcome, hope it went some way to filling the gaps in your family research.  I did come across a small piece on Benjamin Joseph Bradshaw (one of a hundred) who paid the supreme sacrifice and died on Flanders Field in the Argonne at St Mihiel.

Google Books has a copy of Polk County, Minnesota, in the World War (I think it's the same book referenced in the site that Sandra linked to) and it includes a picture of Benjamin.

Hi (if you're still here!)
I  may have a family connection - I have come across a personal photo, ie not 'off the web', of the grave of Joseph A Bradshaw (d.1942) and his wife Lillian (d.1937).
Rebecca Caroline Bradshaw, of a similar time period, was my Great-Grandmother however I have not yet made the connection to Joseph and Benjamin apart from this picture in a family album.
There is also a photo of 'Uncle Ben's house in Erskine, Minn'.  Please get in touch if you're still resaerching and interested in info exchange.

Welcome to Roots Chat, Chris-UK.  If it helps to make a connection to your tree, a 1922 passport application for Benjamin Bradshaw of Erskine, Minnesota says he was born London, England on 24 Jun. 1868 and his father Benjamin died in London, England.

It appears from his death record that his mother's name was Sarah:  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FDDW-KQV
