Looking for Rovina (Ravina) Woodruff b 1868 Dublin Living USA

Hi,  I have a great  aunt Ravina Woodruff born Dublin 1868 when her father William was in the army in the Buffs. He married Mary Brown in Limerick.

I can find all of this family except the above lady and her sister Ada Kathleen Woodruff born 1874 Dover Kent.

I posted a look up for Hougham Kent marriages or deaths for them and Casalguida as replied with this info:-

John W KELSEY died 10 Nov 1922 Peoria, Peoria, Illinois USA
born 5 Feb 1895 Illinois

Parents:
William T KELSEY born Kent
Rowena WOODRUFF born Dublin

Could this be the person I am searching for.

I would be very grateful if some kind person can search these details for me in the USA. Last sighting of her was in a convent in Deal Kent in 1881, a boarder.

No wonder I couldn't find her. I had thought she had become a Nun at one point in my searching. Nothing mentioned in the family that she had emigrated, but then info was very short from my father and his siblings.  All I have to do now is find her sister!

My great aunt Rovina Woodruff was married to William T Kelsey in  McLean County Illinois in 1886. She was born in Dublin 1868 and he was born in Kent, date not known. I don't have any more info on him at the moment.

I would be very grateful if anyone could find them for me emigrating to USA around that time.

She was in Deal Kent on 1881 census as a boarder in a convent, so would be after that and before 1886 I think. Parents stayed in England.

Hello,

Could some kind person look to find my great aunt Rovina Woodruff married to William Kelsey in 1886 in McLean County Illinois please.  Rovina/Rowena/Ravina was born 1868 in Dublin Ireland when her father was serving in the British Army. In 1881 she is living as a boarder in a convent in Deal Kent. Her parents didn't emigrate with them.

They had a son John W Kelsey born Feb 1895 in Bloomington and he died in 1922 in Peoria. His wife's name was Virginia Glazebrook not sure where she was born but suspect USA.

A search for any of these people would be wonderful and hopefully they had more children that I can trace.

I was intrigued by one of your earlier posts on Rovina and spent an hour or so Sunday trying to find any of these people in Illinois (and elsewhere in US) between 1886 and 1920.  Of course there is no extant 1890 census which makes it difficult.   A divorced painter "Wm Kelsey" born England 1859 (divorced) is a roomer in Bloomington, McLean, Ill. in 1900.  If Rovina remarried, and John temporarily took new step-father's name, might be difficult to find.

I suggest that you make links to your other request for Rovina so that people don't duplicate research already done.

PS  John's death registration, given on one of your other threads, states exactly where he was born in Illinois.

If I am understanding your post correctly, it looks as if Rovina and William divorced. On the Beta site their son has parents as Wm and Rovina, so perhaps they divorced after 1895 and before 1900!.  More twists and turns for this aunt!

Perhaps I should look for son John after 1890 and see if his mother is with him in Peoria where he died in 1922, according to the Beta site.
