Hi Grayhound,

Is this your granddad's death?

Henry William Barnard born 26 Oct 1892
Dec 1975 Lincoln 7 1711

Can't see a better birth registration than this one:
Henry William Barnard - Dec 1892 - Glanford Brigg 7a 656 (I think! Page number not clear)

From there, this 1901 census:

1901
RG13/3101 51 2
Manton, Lincolnshire
Mid Manton 2nd Cot
3 rooms occupied

John Barnard, head, 53, Game Keeper, b. Lincs Messingham
Lily, wife, 41, b. Scawby
Keturah, dau, 11, b. Messingham
Harold, son, 10, b. do.
Henry W, son, 8, b. Manton
Frank, son, 6, b. do.
Albert E, son, 4, b. do.
Eliza, dau, 2, b. do.
Annie M, dau, 9 mo, b. do.

 :)

Is this Minnie's death?

Minnie Barnard born 28 Jul 1904
Mar 1970    Lincoln 3b 915

Unfortunately, there's an awful lot of Minnie Brown births registered in September and December quarter 1904. Only one in Glanford Brigg registration though (Minnie Brown, Dec 1904, Glanford B. 7a 655) but I reckon you really need the marriage cert to confirm her father's name.

Looks like the Glanford Minnie could well be our girl then.

The 1911 free search isn't obvious with common names like Brown - you'd have to spend a few credits to look Minnie up. Combining the free search on both www.1911census.co.uk and www.GenesReunited.com/search.page/index/census_1911 I'm thinking that this could be Minnie's family before her birth though:

1901
RG13/3106 78 1
Messingham, Lincolnshire
Mill Road

Robert Brown, head, 25, Farm Labourer, b. Elsham
Mary Jane, wife, 25, b. Bottsford
John Fred, son, 10 (or 18?) months, b. Messingham
Mary E, sister, s, 20, b. Yokel(?)

Probably no relation but maybe of interest. A Samuel Barnard was a radical Blue party, Boston man with links to Liqiurpond Street & Blue Street in Boston, residences of many ships captains in the 1800's. He had a schooner of 60 tons, registered at Boston, named after him. The captain in the1861 census was my Gt Gt Uncle Joseph Vine.

That's the date given when her death was registered (see Tati's 2nd reply above) :)
