McCudden/Taylor
« on: Friday 11 September 09 18:54 BST (UK) »
Hi There. I'm new here and am looking for anyone with information on James McCudden. He married Catharine Hughes and they had 3 children, John, Elizabeth (Betsie) and Mary Ann.
Their daughter Bestie married a Taylor and they had 4 boys... James, Peter, Joseph and Thomas.
I can't seem to find any information on them. They are listed in the 1851 and 1861 census for England but I'm trying to trace them further back. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. My family tree website is http://darryltaylor.familytreeguide.com/tree_index.php

do any of the census returns list where in Ireland they came from ?

Full civil registration was started in Ireland in 1864 - so too late for any of the McCudden /Hughes/Taylor family if they were already in England in 1841.

To start a search for earlier parish records you would need to know the families religion and a detailed location - e.g. parish or townland.

Hi Everyone. I'm new here so please let me know if I have posted in the wrong spot.

I'm trying to locate information on my GGG-Grandfather James McCudden. He married Catherine Hughes early to mid 1800's and they had two children that I know of... John and Elizabeth. Elizabeth married (John?) Taylor and they had 4 boys... James, Joseph, Thomas and Peter. James and Catherine brought their son John and their Taylor grandchildren to Canada around 1862.

I found the McCuddens in the 1851 and 1861 census for England but I can't find them anywhere else. It is rumoured that they came from County Cork but I can't confirm it. I also can't find anything on a McCudden/Taylor marriage.

Are there any other McCudden researchers out there that can help or can anyone else shed some light on this family

Thank You -Darryl

I've merged your latest post with the existing thread (started in Sept.2009) but you've also posted on a few other boards-
