John Ernest Douglas MULLIN
Born in Ballarat in 1875.

Please search from the 1890s until about 1935 when he appears in the Tallarook area of Victoria...I have no idea whether he was married??

Hi Rob,

He is NOT listed in the 1904 Ballarat & District Directory that I have access to.

There is a John MULLIN (no further initials or middle names) at 203 Lennox St Richmond VIC in the 1904 Wise Dir

There is a John MULLIN (no further initials or middle names) at 305 Lennox St Richmond VIC in the 1914 Wise Dir

No way of telling from those if that would be John Ernest Douglas MULLIN,  sorry ...

Hi there,

From the Electoral Roll, 1914 the chap (John Mullin, no further middle names, nor any initials etc) at 305 Lennox St was a railway employee ... there's also Annie Mullin at that address at her home duties on that roll ... 

John Mullin a railway employee, Annie Mullin and another with that surname were at that address on the 1924 roll. 

Fingers crossed this may help confirm/eliminate the sighting from the 1914 directory.

My first post shows 305 Lennox St Richmond VIC as mentioned in the 1914 Wises Directory ...  and to help you further I then looked up the Electoral Roll for Richmond Vic and found the matching details and posted the second time.

I have re-read over these two posts I made to your thread.  I continue to believe I have anwered your original question requesting Directory lookup and my second post is there supporting the first post by giving you a likely occupation and further details for a possible wife or other family member.

I apologise if you are unsure if 305 Lennox St is in Richmond, VIC ... or if I was referring to 305 Lennox St as being in Richmond VIC ... but YES, of course the electoral roll entry for 1914 for John Mullin of 305 Lennox St, a railway employee, is for Richmond in Victoria, Australia.  (edit to add and of course tis not for 305 Lennox St in Richmond NSW, a street that has been there long before Lennox St in Richmond Vic      )

May I suggest, ( but perhaps you have already considered) looking for the marriage for John and Annie (perhaps with variations), in Vic .... and/or births to John/Annie (variations), say c1900 (1924 -21 years of age for the new elector) ...
