i was given info from here her dad was andrew smith ferguson born 1902

but the issue is his wife barbara gordon born 1909 would make her 13 at time my gran would have been born as they married in 1927 5 yrs after she was born or have i got the wrong parents ?

You may be lucky and find someone recognises these names. The main problem we have with helping you with these searches is that both the birth and marriage cert are both outside the period where they can be viewed on line. Have you considered ordering either your granmother's birth and/or marriage cert to confirm her parents' names this way?
