I'm researching anything about my Great Grandmother. Her children were all put up for adoption after her death and my Grandma is one of them. Trying to learn anything about her at all. I do know she married Isaac Thwaites who died in the War and remarried Archibald Irvine in 1927. She lived in England and in Shetlands. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated! Especially interested in a photo .

Thank you everyone for helping me out. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. The information you have provided me is correct. The story is just that I'm trying to help my 80 year Gran find out information on her family. She doesn't know who all are her siblings, she has found a few but none listed below. So I'm trying to help her at least find out there names and possibly connect with them if they are alive. She was 1 when she was placed for adoption so has no real memories of her family. She has never seen what her mother looked like. Thanks everyone

Do any of you recommend family history researcher? I am so stuck on who actually is my Gran's siblings and who is a half sibling. I am unemployed at the moment and can't afford an expensive one but don't want the cheapest I could find either. Anyone have any ideas? I'm at my wits end with this its very confusing.

WOuld be cheaper for you to research yourself!

Birth certificates will give you the parentage of children.

Presumably your gran was a child of the second marriage  if she was only 1 when her mum dies.
Gartonside has found you the possible birth of a child of the first marriage.

I cant see the second marriage to Irvine
I wonder if that was in Scotland, as you say she lived in the Shetlands.

You may have to search there for births of other children of Rosalie.
