Joseph and Emma HINDS, from Sudbury, Suffolk
are raising a family at Braintree in 1851.

By 1861 they have moved to West Ham.

Hi FH,

I've traced my Hinds's back to Sudbury in Suffolk around 1670. They them moved to Essex area and then to Kent. I would love to hear of any info, or just your Hinds story. I myself was born Hinds.

Hello Michaela.

What a shame...... :'(

My Heins or Hinds or Hines or Heines or Hinze etc etc, originate from Hanover in Germany and likewise, have traced them back to the early 1600s.

I found it somewhat easier to trace them in the 1600s/1700s than I have in the 1800s., So when i see you looking for a similar name I thought "great" , help at last.... but no such luck   :'( :'( (only joking)   :D :D

The original spelling of our surname is HEINS, but along the way ours changed to HINES, (same letters, wrong way round).   ::)

To make matters harder, several family members went to the USA in the 1800s and just last week, I found that we now have a branch in Canada.    :o :o

If you hear of any other HEINS on your search perhaps you'll let me know......... Happy hunting,

Regards Fred Hines
