In that time period her arrival was recorded on a Form 30A and each individual passenger had such a form filled out.  Helena's destination was to her mother in Mountain, Ontario.  She was travelling on the tunisian and arrived June 12, 1922.  Since she married 23 Aug 1922 to Thomas Kerr in Mountain, Dundas County are you asking if she travelled with Thomas?

There is a Form 30A which seems to be for Thomas Kerr travelling on the Minnedosa and arriving April 7, 1921.  He was single and travelling to a cousin in Mountain, Ont.  Cousin was Samuel ??mms (possibly starting with L).  His father was Thomas Kerr of Granshaw Bailly Grainey (as close as I can tell) of County Down.

Collections Canada has a link to these forms that you can peruse and see the originals.  They are filed alphabetically and it does take some time to find them.  There is also a Form 30A for Gertrude arriving in 1921.

Hi Debbie, :)

Thankyou so much on answering my message and giving me so much useful information.

Gertrude Forsythe was my 2xgrandmother who's maiden name was Tiffin then married John Flanagan in Waterford were Gertrude was born, then Gertrude remarried in 1898 Belfast to John Forsythe after my 2xgrandfather John Flanagan died.

Gertrude had two daughters with John Forsythe, Helena born 1899, and Violet born 1902.

So i'm actually trying to find anything on Gertrude.

Kind Regards
   Gary :D

This is probably Thomas Kerr's Form 30A

Possible Form 30A for Gertrude although I can't read the son's name.

Still looking for Helena

Debbie

Helena C. (Forsythe) Kerr and Thomas Kerr are buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dundas County.

There is a Gertrude Forsythe buried in Maynard Cemetery in Grenville County, Augusta Township which would not be that far from Dundas county.

Hi Debbie,

I googled Helena Claudine Forsythe, and to my amazement she came up in Canada, marrying Thomas Kerr, just as you mentioned, but i never thought they moved away.

Thankyou for so many links, that i greatly received.

I noticed Gertrude with a son, but i find that confusing, i thought she had one son thats William Frederick Flanagan, i did try to enlarge the script on the son, but i can't make out his name.

I did notice mrs Foy, she is my great aunt Jessie Lowry Flanagan who married David Whalley Foy (master chairmaker) and living in Condahar Street, Co.Down, he had other property and lots of money, Jessie was left with a few pennies ;D.

Do you think i can find the year of deaths of Gertrude and Helena.

Regards
  Gary ;)

If you go to the home page of the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid they give links to the various agencies that hold the transcripts of the cemeteries.  They should also have email contacts and they will look up the information and send it to you for a slight fee.  I've only had to use this service once and I think it was $2.50 for the two graves I was interested in.

Some cemeteries are transcribed and available online but I haven't found the ones you would be interested in.

The 'son's' name on Gertrude's Form 30A looks like it reads Mr D Kerr. The full passenger list has David Kerr.

I think Thomas Kerr's cousin is Samuel Simms. He is a witness to the wedding of Thomas and Helena.

Gertrude appears to have left Canada 17 Nov 1932 and returned 13 May 1933 on the Duchess of Richmond. She was now widowed and returning home to Mountain Ontario. Her place of birth is given as Waterford I. F. S. (Irish Free State?). She was destined to her daughter Mrs J W Kerr of Mountain Station Ontario.
