HI
Maybe if you post all the details from the birth certificate it may help.

I have a feeling from looking at earlier census that Emma could well be Williams second wife. The details from the birth certificate could possibly confirm this.

HI Arranroots, thanks for letting  me know, think this posting is on twice!!!

I had a quick look at bmd and think Fanny in 1891 is correct and that she died and William remarried in 1898. Will look more later.

Hi
Ancestry.com for some reason have placed nearly thirty Momnmouthshire parishes in Westmoreland in the 1901
Census.
the 1901 should read Mathern and St Pierre Monmouyhshire.
The unnamed child was born Mathern, so presumably in
Monmouthshire

HI
The details from the birth certificate really confirm that William was married twice and the 1891 that Arranroots posted is one and the same man.

Here are the details of his marriage to Emma

William Pidsley
Emma Morgan
June quarter 1898
In the district of Cardiff
Vol 11a
Page 606

and this was the one Fanny interestingly also Morgan.

William Pidsley
Fanny Morgan
December quarter 1890
In the district of Chepstow
Vol 11a
Page 39

Fanny died in 1897.

Hope this helps
