Born 1840 in Sulford, (?) UK
Parents: Joseph Butterfield & Sarah Hodgin
Married  1864 Corfu  age 24 was a Sergeant 2 Batt. 9 Reg Corfu
Said to have served in Queen Victoria's Army in the Boer and Crimean War also beginning of Boxer Rebellion in China
Arrived 1869 Australia - Died 1910 Australia

Cannot find birth or Army records.
Any help appreciated.

are you sure his middle name was edward and not edmund
only the only birth that appears to match up is
name; john edmund butterfield

No not sure at all wozzle - our family has his middle name as Edward RE:  headstone, however all records I have only state John Butterfield or John E Butterfield so could be him.

Do you know what the word is after Sulford ?
