« on: Wednesday 11 January 12 15:27 GMT (UK) »
We are looking for details about Robert Atkinson, who married Margaret Stead, on 21st December 1903 at the Jubilee Chapel, New North road, Durham. Father of Robert is Jeramiah, of John Street, Kimblesworth and father of Margaret is George Stead, of Charles street, Kimblesworth. Don't have any mother's names on the marriage certificate. Can you help please? Also no birth or deaths found.  Thanks

Margaret in 1891 @ 16 Charles Street (RG12 4100 83 13)

George Stead, Head, 36, Coal Miner, born Halgarth, Durham
Elizabeth Stead, Wife, 33, born St Giles, Durham
Hannah Briggs Stead, Dau, 14, borh Halgarth
John Stead, Son, 12, born Halgarth
Joseph Briggs Stead, Son, 10, born Halgarth
Margaret Stead, Dau, 8, born Halgarth
Elizabeth Stead, Dau, 4, born Kimblesworth
George Stead, Son, 2, born Kimblesworth

I'd go with Briggs being a possible surname of Margaret's mother to look at - there is a marriage of a George Stead to Elizabeth Briggs registered in Durham in 1875 which would fit with Hannah Briggs Stead's birth about 2 ish years later.  reference is 10a/561 if you want to get hold of the certificate

The family are still at 16 Charles St in 1901 as well....Margaret, Elizabeth and George are still at home and there is an addition of a further son called Richard (aged 5, born Kimblesworth) (RG13 4676 120 14)

Margaret seems to be registered in December Quarter of 1882 at Durham (10a 392)

Looks like Jeremiah might have died when Robert was quite young (presuming this is him)

1891 @ (something) Buildings, Plawsworth, Durham (RG12 4121 39 34)

Mary Atkinson, Head, 37, Widow, School Caretaker, born West Auckland, Durham
Mary Jane Atkinson, Dau, 16, Mother's help, born Cockfield, Durham
Annie Atkinson, Dau, 13, Scholar born Kimblesworth
Robert Atkinson, Son, 11, Scholar born Kimblesworth

There is a Jeremiah Atkinson marrying a Mary Flowers in 1872 in Teesdale that fits if Mary Jane was eldest and born in around 1875

1881 census at 13 William Street (RG 11 4596 129 40) as well - Jeremiah is still missing but Mary is not down as a widow (although wouldn't take that as gospel until we find Jeremiah dying).   There is another son with Mary - George W (aged 8 born Cockfield) and the other children, including Robert are there as well.

There are some Atkinson's next door as well that could be related
