could someone help with any information on Hugh Lowry my great great grandfather all i know is that he might have been from North Down or maybe Scotland before that, i have a UHF marriage cert for Hugh Lowry and Sarah Cappa 1915 @ 100 McTier St Belfast my great grand parents, any help would be greatly appreciated, i think i have tried all the online sources but with no more detail it has been fruit less. many thanks

Welcome to Rootschat. Most recent available Irish census (1911) is online (free). This looks like Sarah (do you have her father's occupation from marriage certificate?)-

In the Ulster Covenant of 1912, a total of 9 men named Hugh Lowry signed.  One signed in England, albeit was born in Belfast. It may be worth following through and cross referencing these 9 with the 1911 census.

thanks for the reply, it all helps, sarah's father john cappa was a coach painter origin armagh... but its hugh lowry i'm try to make the connections with, my grandfather also hugh was born in belfast 1919 his father also hugh was married in 1915 to sarah cappa his father surprise surprise also hugh, named on marriage cert as a labourer, i found 2 hugh lowry's in killyleagh 1911 census this could be them, i think they may have parted ways as hugh and sarah was a mixed marriage

any help please possibly my great grandfather hugh lowry born 6th may 1893 newtownards parents hugh lowry wife anna lowry nee daysdale, though i think this maybe drysdale.

Thanks for that, my grandfather Hugh Lowry was a Catholic, his father Hugh according to his wedd cert was Church of Ireland, so i thought his father also Hugh would be the same not Presbyterian, is it possible he changed religion? see below, its my Great Great Grandfather Hugh I am having difficulty tracing
