Dear All, If anyone has access to the GRO index for Canada (sorry do not know the province) would they be willing to look up the birth details of the above person (born 17th April 1926 info from death cert) to see if could tell me the maiden name of his mother and then if possible a marraige of his parents. All I know is that his father was called George. Harold married twice in england but when he came here do not know. Many thanks.

Just to try & explain that there are no Central registries/indexes in Canada for BMDs.  Canada has very strict privacy laws and each province imposes its own even further.  Additionally, some provinces are more research friendly than others so researching in Canada can be challenging.  The last available Canadian Census was 1911 apart from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta which was 1916.  1921 Census should be out next year but even that will be to early for Harold'd birth.  As a guide BMD Records are only available for births more than a 100 years ago, marriages 80 years ago and deaths 70 years ago.
