O'Halloran History
« on: Friday 03 August 12 18:50 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information on my Grand Father, " Hilary Edwin O'Halloran" who was born in 1901 in Ireland. At some point he moved to Prince Edward Island, Canada. He died in 1963 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Would he have been in Ireland for the 1911 census ?

see : http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

Do you have marriage or death certs for Hilary ?
These often give details of parents which should help narrow down the correct O'Halloran family.

see : Introduction to Irish Records

I see you've also posted on the Co. Kerry board - do you think that's where Hilary was born ?

I really am not sure where he is from. But after searching records in Prince Edward Island, Canada it indicated that Irish immigrants arrived there from Kerry.

I searched the National Archives but it didn't return any results.

No good matches for his birth on the BMD Index, but he could have been registered before a name was finalized - so would appear as Male O'Halloran.

Have you located marriage or death details for him ?

I think the Kerry link is a bit tenuous at the moment - might be better to keep this as an Ireland General topic for now..
