Hi chacha

You may need to give us a bit more information if possible.

FreeBMD has
Births Sep Qtr 1901
Short  Theresa Winifred, Paddington District Vol 1a Page 7

but I can't find a match for a wedding for these two names on FreeBMD up to 1940.

Do you know where they lived or what county they were born in.

Did they have any children and if so do you have any details?

Do you have a year when these 4 kids were born?

I am drawing a blank on Theresa before her marriage, so far as England & Wales are concerned. Some of the names in this family have an Irish feel - might she have been from Ireland?

Was she known as Theresa, or might she have been known as May? If the latter, there is a 1923 shipping record which may be of interest; on 28 July 1923 a May Shortt of the right sort of age (22) failed to embark on the SS Carmania's voyage from Liverpool to the US: occupation "domestic", final destination New Jersey. She was recorded as being from of Cullville(?), Co Armagh, which was the address of her next of kin who was her mother, "Mrs Shortt".

No reason is noted for her failure to embark.
