« on: Saturday 26 January 13 14:42 GMT (UK) »
i am trying to figure out william robson i have an 1871 census that states he was born in st johns lee 1850 father john and mother barbara
william married a margaret (meggie) in 1881 i have her name also as a robson but on this his father is lionel her father john
1881 census it has him born in bingfield
1891 census it says bywell
1901 census its says newton
1911 census it says corbridge
is this common
his wife maggie..meggie..margaret all the census is corbridge
and i have a feeling the marriage cert is wrong one and its barbara and john as barbara is a name down through the family there is no lionels
and maggie has different birthdays 1856 1860 and 1861 can anyone unravel this please x ???

He has parents John & Barbara right back to 1851. In 1861 he uses Bingfield as PoB ...

so yes, check the marriage Cert / index again?

Hi,

The 1881 census already shows they had two children William 3 and Barbara 1 so I would be looking for an 1876 - 8 marriage for them.  One of the childrens birth certificates would show the mothers maiden name making it easier to find the correct marriage.

have you tried tracing Maggie back to 1861 using Corbridge PoB?

she wouldnt have been Robson then !

I guess the implied question is "what do you think her maiden name is"?
