I have just noticed this below people's names on their profiles. Is it new or has it been around for a while?

What's it for? How does it work?  :)

Good question.  I see there's an 'ignore list,' too.
Wiltshire:  Banks, Taylor
Somerset:  Duddridge, Richards, Barnard, Pillinger
Gloucestershire:  Barnard, Marsh, Crossman
Bristol:  Banks, Duddridge, Barnard
Down:  Ennis, McGee
Wicklow:  Chapman, Pepper

I can only see "add to buddy list" and "remove from buddy list" - where is "ignore"?  :)

I did search rootschat for "buddy list" before starting this thread but got zero results.

I clicked and you are now my Buddy  ... it added a sticky-out bit to yer green square, but otherwise hasnt made the earth move for me  :P

Look in the left column of your profile.  I now notice that there's also an 'ignore topics' option there, as well.

I will check the squares for sticky-out bits. (I tried it with a random member and saw the sticky out thing). I can't see a sticky out thing on my green square. It looks like the person who makes someone a buddy can see the sticky out thing, but the person who has been 'buddyfied' cannot see it.  :P

I can't work out what the "buddy" thing is for though.  :-\

So is it a popularity thing, where some people have hundreds of lumps on their green squares, meaning loads of people want to be their buddy? But that person won't know how popular they are because they can't see the sticky out bits?  ;D

Don't understand what the ignore list is for either. I can't think of any circumstances that someone would use this.
