« on: Wednesday 19 May 10 23:32 BST (UK) »
Aloha!
I'm looking for a James who married Ann Carton, probably about 1877.  James was probably born about 1853, had a brother named Daniel, and their father was also Daniel, from Parish of Templemore, Tipperarry.  Mahalo for any leads...

Tommy

Welcome to Rootschat. But I am afraid your post has nothing to do with my thread. I suggest you start a new thread about whatever it is you want to know

Otherwise threads get completely messed up, and are useless to everyone

Welcome to Rootschat, tommytee. I've moved your post out of the thread and renamed it so others will see it and there'll be a better change that we can help you.
First thing to do would be to get the marriage certificate for James and Ann. See here on how to get started, search the civil index, etc.:

http://www.rootschat.com/links/08q7/

Here is the 1900 Census Cenus for New York which shows a James Tracy his wife Ann and their kids.

http://www.rootschat.com/links/08q8/

This is the record of Michael Tracy`s wedding listing James Tracy and Anne Carton as parents.

Hope this helps ..at least you should be able to do more research with kids names as well,Familysearch is a good site to start with.
