Charles & Leannagh (Russell) Mallon
« on: Wednesday 15 July 09 01:14 BST (UK) »
Charles Mallon was an orangeman, presbyterian who use to shoot on Leannagh's parents estate in England (1800's). Charles and Leannagh eloped to Ireland. Left England in 1873 aboard the woodlark for new zealand with their children. For some reason their surname was changed to "Millen". Looking for relatives.

 - well, this shows the names of all the children who went with them, and that they were from Derry.

 - I think in the Irish registration records the marriage is registered in Magherafelt district, Derry - Leannah Russell (vol 7 page 722) and Charles Mellon.

Hi unblestduchess

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

What are you specifically trying to establish? Charles' background in England perhaps?

Can you tell us ages, names of children, occupations - have you  his  death record in NZ which may have clues?

Cheers

No need to start a new topic for Charles Mallon- you already started one the other day and it's less confusing if all information is posted in the same place so I've merged the two threads.
You need to let us know exactly what information you're looking for so that we can either give you information or suggest where you can search next.
