1851 Census lookup - Robert Eeles
« on: Tuesday 05 July 05 20:25 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me by looking for a Robert Eeles in the 1851 census. Robert had a son Benjamin (b1829). Alternative spellings - Eales, Elles etc).
Many thanks

Hi,

I have one Robert Eeles on the Bucks 1851 transcription in Waddesden but no son Benjamin. i checked both the alternatives but no Robert or benjamin. Is Waddesden the right area?
This Robert was age 35 b Waddesdon and had a wife Rebecca b Grandborough and a few children. I wil give details if any use

Hi
Many thanks for your response. I realised after I had posted my request that it was a bit short of information re Robert but, in truth, I know little about him. Benjamin's marriage certificate indicates that he (Robert) was a farmer - but that could include Ag Lab. As Robert was born in Eton (described in later census as being in Bucks & Beds) I decided to look first in Bucks.
Benjamin would have been 22 at the time of the 1851 census and may well have left the nest. What was the profession of the Waddeson Robert?
Regards
Mike
