Nottingham 1841 census : HIND
« on: Monday 04 April 05 00:24 BST (UK) »
Not sure if this is an impossible request but I am looking for William Hind (maybe Hinds) in Nottingham in 1841.  He would be about 16 and is expected to be living with his father John.

Can anyone help me?

Damian

It certainly is helpful, thanks!!!

Why do you think they are not there?  Did the census man simply forget their house.  I've often wondered if this happened.

You're right they should be, But some enumerators ignored that and wrote down the age they were told which is a bonus if it's your family :)

Its been a while since I have thought about the Hind family.  Can anyone help find out what happened to Mary Hind, after her husband died?

Thanks.

Hi smouse,
Was your William definitely married to Mary - I have a William livng with Eliza on Barker Gate, in the St.Mary's district on Nottingham. This one is down as being 20 years of age, but could be younger.
He is down as occupation 'hairdresser'.
I also have some information re. Hind's buried in the General Cemetery at Nottingham. Let me know if you want any details.
Kind regards,
Paulene.
P.S. There is a grave of one William, who was buried in 1889, aged 65 years - he is buried with his wife, Jane, and 2 children.

Hi willow

It was John Hind who I believe was married to Mary.  Their son, William, would have been born about 1826 and he was married, I believe, to Martha Waller.

My William was buried in Tibshelf.

As for the Hind burials you mention I would definitely be interested to see what you have.  Thanks.
