Please help...
Does anybody have information about the parents of Thomas Gibbs of Portland, Dorset, UK, c: 1740.

Thomas may have married a Jenny ?? or Jane -possibly Comben.

They had children Jenny, Mary, Thomas and John.  John and Thomas married the Attwooll girls (maybe sisters?), Sarah and Susanna...all of Portland.

Familysearch Pilot has a Thomas GIBBS, Christening 18 February 1741, Folkstone, Kent to JOHN and JANE.
But although marriage Record says Thomas was from Folkstone it does not mean he was necessarily born there.
But luckily you know he was probably not from Dorset.

Thanks for that, I have most of my reaearch from them but getting back further  - through the masses of Gibbs, Attwoolls, Combens etc...is trying my patience.

It seems the Island of Portland had very few family name there.
