Mary MARSHALL - Axbridge
« on: Thursday 27 January 11 19:24 GMT (UK) »
Can anybody look up a baptism in Axbridge for me.  According to the 1841 census
she was 55 so born c1786, the 1851 census she is 71 so born c1780 and in the
1861 census she is 83 so born c1778.  Mary Marshall married James Turner in
Bridgwater in 1806.  I would be grateful of any hel.
Thanks

Hi

Axbridge parish records are being transcribed by Freereg so wont be too long until they are on line.

Ive checked on Hugh Wallis site and although there are quite a few Marshalls there is no sign of your Mary. I believe that this isnt a complete list so it would be worth checking Freereg on a regular basis.

Hope this helps.

I have the Axbridge registers on fiche.  The ony Mary Marshall baptised there in that time frame was the eldest daughter of jesse Marshall and his wife Betty (surname indistinct on the fiche - looks like Miniver but that is not a local name and doesn't appear anywhere else).

At Axbridge
bap 9 Aug 1778 Mary dau of Jesse and Betty Marshall
bap 1 Jun 1783 Emmy dau of Jesse and Betty Marshall
bur 18 Jun 1784 Emmy dau of Jesse and Betty Marshall  (poor)
bap 6 Jul 1785 Thomas son of Jesses and betty Marshall (poor)
bap 26 Dec 1787 George son of Jesse and Betty Marshall
bap 17 Oct 1790 Jesse son of Jesse and Betty Marshall
bur 19 Oct 1790 Jesse son of Jesses and Elizabeth Marshall
bap 31 Jan 1792 Jesse son of Jesse and Betty Marshall  (poor)
bur 7 Jun 1793 Jesse son of Jesse and Elizabeth Marshall infant
bap 25 Dec 1797 Elizabeth dau of Jesse and Elizabeth Marshall
bap 27 Jul 1800 Jesse son of Jesse and betty Marshall

bur 28 Jan 1835 Jesse Marshall aged 82
bur 31 Oct 1830 Betty Marshall aged 76
All inhabitants of Axbridge, Somerset.
