Ames/Rea/Smith Family 1900's Help please

I am having trouble on a few family members, hoping someone can help
or knows this family.

Lillian Frances (Rea) Ames Born July 14 1920/1921
looking for place of birth for Lillian Frances (Rea) Ames
Mother is Annie Elizabeth Hawkins born 1891 died 1961
Father is unknown. Tried to get a birth record, but was told
there was no record for Lillian.
Lillian's sibling were born in Bromsgrove England, or Birmingham.

Lillian married Victor Earnest Ames
No marriage date? would like to find a date.

Victor Ames born 1917 died Jan 21 1981
I dont have a full birth date or where he was born or died.
No records were found.
Would like to find Victors parents and siblings.

I do have there childrens information if needed.


Any help would be great.

Have you checked freebmd for a Rea/Hawkins marriage

The marriage reference for Victor & Lilian is December qtr 1939 Bromsgrove 6C 1080 (Lilian only has one L on both the marriage and death record)

Birthyear shown on death record is 1920

Yes.....but....Annie Elizabeth Hawkins married John Albert Rea June 1911 in Bromsgrove
They had 2 children Ethel May Rea and Kathleen (Hilda) Rea.
1914 John Albert Rea went missing in action, by 1917 they declared him
dead. Annie Elizabeth (Hawkins) Rea went on to have 5 more children
but gave them John Rea's last name. On one of the birth records I have for
Gladys Rea it shows unknown. Im told Annie had many lover's so the
last 5 children could have different dads.

It would have been helpful if you had said above that Lilian was illegitimate because even if you were successful in finding a birth registration for her - it is most unlikely to have a fathers name

A copy of her marriage cert may well show Rea as her father - nobody would be any the wiser at that stage
