I am searching for Moses PICKWICK and families, - Moses was the fathers´ name for more than one generation.

1) Moses PICKWICK widower married Sarah POPE at St James Bath  5th October 1767

2) Moses PICKWICK married Sarah CANNINGS at Combe Hay 20th February 1781

3) Moses PICKWICK married Frances COLES at Bath Abbey 27th December 1815. Frances PICKWICK died aged about 78 in Bathwick 1861, her sister Susanna COLES was living with the Pickwick family in 1841 to 1861.

Hello Muffin,

There is a burial for Moses PICKWICK in Twerton on 21/12/1799. No age, or other details.

A burial of Sarah PICKWICK on 31/01/1786 also at Twerton.

A baptism of Moses PICKWICK at Twerton on 14/04/1782, son of Moses and Sarah PICKWICK.

Hello Muffin,

No sign of Paul in the years I looked at. Any idea of when he was born roughly?

I did find a baptism of Eliza PICKWICK in Twerton 17/05/1807, daughter of Levi and Sarah PICKWICK. They also baptised Mary Ann at Twerton on 29/01/1809.

Other families with the PICKWICK name baptising children there too.

In the 1851, Moses PICKWICK is in Bathwick, Bath aged 66 and a coach maker/master. Wife is Frances and he has a variety of family members in the household. Let me know if you want more details.

I have this infomation for Paul Pickwick:

Paul Pickwick was born about 1800 in Holt Wiltshire England and died 24.02.1864 in Twerton Somerset England. He married Eliza Kettlety 14.05.1826 in St Michael Twerton Somerset England. 

Eliza Kettley was born about 1801 in Winsley Wiltshire England and died 14.01.1883 in Twerton Somerset England.

I am not sure who Paul Pickwick´s parents were.

I am doing a one name study for Pickwick.  I have registered with the Guild of One Name Studies (GOONS).

I have a Paul Pickwick who married Esther Hartford in 1795 in Holt, Wiltshire.  They then had children baptised there between 1795 and 1819.

There is a Paul Pickwick who was baptised in Holt in 1800 but I don't have a date or details of parents. I need to check the Holt parish registers at some point. He would certainly fit into the family of Paul and Esther as far as dates are concerned.  There is no other child named Paul and I would expect there to be a son named after the father. Poor Esther was giving birth every two years.

I have discovered that WFHS have transcribed the baptisms for Holt and made them available on FindMy Past.  I have checked and there is no baptism of a Paul Pickwick in Holt.  Hmm back to the drawing board.
