Jane Glasson JOHNS- disappears after her marriage?

Hi,

I'm trying to track down a relative, Jane Glasson Johns who was born in Breage, Cornwall in 1854 to Josiah Johns and Frances James.

I can find her on each census from her birth up until her marriage to Charles Henry James Richards in Ludgvan, Cornwall in September, 1878.  After that I can find no trace of her.  I've tried searching immigration records to Australia and the US, but can't find anything that matches.

Can anyone help?

From Cornwall OPC could this be Jane?

Baptism Charles Henry James Richards 23 Apr 1879 at Godolphin, father shown as  Henry Charles  a miner, mother Jane ,abode Palladros Downs, private baptism. So if it is your Jane she was around in 1879 ish, can't see anything else on the OPC yet.

Yes, I can't find any of them in the 1881 parish so I'm thinking they've emigrated - but to where? 

Too early to look for them on the Ellis Island records in the US. 

Jane's brother, James ( my 2x great-grandfather) went to Australia in 1884 so I thought he might have followed them.  But I can't see anything in BDM records that match them either.

I'll keep looking...

What do you know about her husband, Charles?

A little bit.  He was born in Breage in 1854 to Hannah and William Richards.  I've found him on the 1861 and 1871 census' but not any further.

Perhaps a child of the couples?  Phillis Glasson Richards Sept. Q 1880 Penzance  vol. 5c  p. 275
I don't see her in 1881 either...J.J.

A long shot but worth looking into
Royal Cornwall Gazette 1886 - At Texas, America, March 25th Charles Richards son of the late William Richards of Lanner Hill, Redruth, aged 38.
(That would give a birth date around 1847/1848
