Title: henry bernard forde 1911
Post by: rachelralph on Monday 21 February 11 09:48 GMT (UK)
i am looking for where this man was living in 1911. i have his wife of 4 years mabel forde (lever) living at home with her parents, in Merthyr Tydfi. he is not there. i then have his death in dec 1911. i have a feeling he may have been hospitalised somewhere although i have no idea where or for why, the only thing i have to go on is that he was a young man when he died so i am assuming he died of an illness.

Henry Bernard Forde born abt 1879 in Newport M, Glamorgan, Gwent, Monmouthshire. thats all i really know abut him.

many thanks

I'm sorry but 1911 census requests are not allowed - please see here:

The index is free to search and there are lots of suggestions on this thread:

have a look on this index of Welsh mariners

http://www.welshmariners.org.uk/search.php

The record gives his certificate number which you need to trace his records. Also that the ship he was on went missing in December 1911.

Small world! My ggrandparents were the other side of the road in number 59 in 1901. I found the death of my ggrandmother's brother on the same site that showed Henry's death.

Hi, I am Mabel and Bernard's great grand-daughter.  I have always been told that he was lost at sea.  My grandfather was Harold Bernard Forde who immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900's.  They had another son, Norman.  I have been looking for relatives of my great grandparents for a long time.  I have a collection of post cards that Bernard wrote to Mabel in the early 1900's.  Please contact me through this website if you have any more information on them.  Thanks, Laura

I am so excited to hear from you, but can't figure out how to personal message you.  I have read through the help section but the pm icons are not visible on my end.  Maybe if I post a few more times.  *

you've posted enough times to use the pm facility now! Look for the little green scroll under a user's name.
