Thanks again for that ShaunJ, and for bringing to my attention the existence of those lovely maps!

London and Middlesex / Where is North Pavement?

Hi all :)

Hopefully a quick one. Found this in the 1851 Census for Bethnal Green. Pretty sure it says North Pavement, but does anyone know where it was/is?

Thanks, that's cleared the confusion. I kept finding two meanings for the AM and began to doubt my first thought that it had been Mechanic. :)

Oh thanks for that! ;D

Still a bit confused as to whether he was training to be a pilot or mechanic. I suppose it would say on the service record if he had been a pilot?

Thanks for the replies :)

So he did spend some time overseas then.
Having trouble finding the location of 52 Training school, if anyone has any ideas? Or where the flying school was for that matter.

Hi
I have a small section of an RAF service record. I have had a look at what some of the abbreviations mean and was hoping someone might be able to confirm if I have this correct. I gather from this section that this man didn't travel overseas and that he served his time mainly in Units over here?

I agree - Walter Palmer does look like a possible as the other witness.

Sue - you.ve solved what happened to Mary Ann. I was a bit unsure because of the middle name but then I remembered that I hadn't actually located her baptism before now. So using her middle name. Bingo! She was baptised in 1846 in Essex, England. Name: Marianne Elizabeth VAIL!

So she did stay on in New Zealand with her new husband.

Having another look at Henrietta and Marianne's passenger list record I had remembered that Henrietta had said that she was going to work for her cousin Edward, but I can't work out who Marianne is going to work for.

Any ideas?
