Yes... Thank you for your help. Finding anything for my family "Turner/Bootherstone" in the UK beyond the 1800's is really difficult, particularly since I am in the USA.

I have all of the England census from 1851, when Harriet was already married to William Bootherstone. I recall that I got Ashton under Lyne as being her birth place from my cousin, But you're right, none of the census' identify that as being her birthplace.
I also read your second message. I did check FamilySearch but came up a blank. It's probably because I was spelling her surname as Harriet, rather than Harriett?

I am trying to locate information concerning the parents of Harriet Jane Dibb, who was born about 1820 in Ashton-under-Lyme, Lancashire, England. She married William Bootherstone on 28 Jan 1844, at St. John's Church, Parish of Manchester. I believe that her father's name was Edward Dibb. Her mother's name is unknown.

Lu: I can tell you that William Turner and Ellen Wilson were married in Wilmslow/Bollin Fee on 19 Apr 1808. I have also have a photo of William Turner's family vault, which may be of interest to you. The inscription on the vault is attached below.

Inscription: "Within this vault rest the remains of William Turner of Wilmslow Saddler who died Sept 28th 1865. Aged 82 years. Also, Ellen his wife who died Sept 29th 1863. Aged 75 years. Also James their son, who died Oct 16th 1866. Aged 51 years. Also James Blythen, who died Feb 22nd 1876. Aged 45 years. Also Ellen, his wife died March 14th 1877. Aged 57 years. Also Oswald son of the above William and Ellen Turner who died November 26th 1905. Aged 77 years."

I am not up on uniforms but maroon is the authorized regimental color of the R.A.V.C., so the collar and stable bets appear to be consistent with the color of their stable belt, i.e., maroon, navy blue, and yellow. I have attached an image of more recent A.V.C. stable belts as a comparison. The pattern is not the same but the colors appear to be similar.

It seems likely, based on my research, that the uniform represents his membership in the Legion of Frontiersmen. It was a patriotic paramilitary organization created 1905. The uniform and insignia he is wearing, although similar to the Northwest Mounted Police (aka Royal Canadian Mounted Police) has some significant differences. I suggest you view the many references to the Legion of Frontiersmen on the internet, beginning with the following link to Wikipedia:

If it helps, I found this reference to the A.S.C. in a document called "The New Army in Training" published in 1915.
"The Headquarters of the Army Service Corps had been at Bulford Camp, near Amesbury, on Salisbury Plain since 1903. When heavy motorised transport was introduced just before the 1914-1918 war, the A.S.C. vehicles were given registration numbers beginning 'Bulford' and a four-figure number. These were painted in 4 inch letters on each side of the bonnet, so the trucks became widely known as 'Bulfords'."

Antrim / I need help finding birth, marriage and death information

I currently use Ancestry.com as my primary research tool. I have very little success obtaining birth, marriage, and death records for my relatives in Northern Ireland.
My namesake and my mother's twin brother, Alan K. Bootherstone, lived at #1 Greenhill Road, Nr. Carnmoney Road, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, in 1966. He died of natural causes on May 15, 1982 in Belfast. His first wife's name was Ella but I have been unable to obtain any information online as to her surname and the date and location of their marriage.
Any assistance in securing this information would be appreciated.
