« on: Tuesday 10 March 15 16:06 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find this young man on the 1891 census.

On 1861 he is married to Ann nee underwood living in Brick Lane, London with son Charles b1856.
On 1871 he is still with Ann living in St Luke with son William b1861 and daughter b1867
On 1881 he is still with Ann in St Luke living with Ann b1867 and Alfred b1878

I have him as dying in 1906 so should be on 1891 but i simply cant find him and wondered if anyone would have more luck than me please.

Hiya
When i started doing trees in 2000 i used a package called Family tree maker. This worked very well for me ans was compatible with my laptop.

I have upgraded my laptop to windows 8 and it is now longer compatible and wondered if someone was a bit more techie and could advise me how I would change without losing all my data.

thanks in advance

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Charlotte Tagg born 1877
« on: Saturday 25 October 14 17:20 BST (UK)  »
Please can someone help
I am looking at Charlotte Tagg born 15 November 1877 in Stepney. I have her birth certificate and it states her parents are William Tagg and Sarah Ann Fisher.
I found her parents marriage date and ordered the certificate. It was on May 7th 1866, shows both to be of age and Williams Dad to be James Tagg deceased.
My problem is I cannot find any of them on any census. Not James, William or Charlotte until she marries then appears in her married name. Can anyone help. I have access to all the census' online but have hit a brick wall.
Thanks in advance

Scotland / Mccafferty
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 23:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I am trying to follow a line on my tree that is in Scotland and am being a bit dippy!!!

I know that Thomas (Possibly Patrick) Mccafferty died in 1995 in Northumberland and using this have death cert giving me his birth on 9/12/1941 in Glasgow

I have signed up to Scotlands People and come up with 8 possibilities but it doesnt show quarters or mothers maiden name like the England entries so would I just have to order all 8?

I can see his marriage to Sarah Mcgregor in 1967 but again no quarter or details. Can anyone enlighten me to either of these or guide me to how the Scottish searches work please

Ireland / Irish census' and certificates
« on: Tuesday 27 January 09 16:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

Having a predominantly English family tree I am totally thrown by my Great Great Grandmother who it seems was born in Ireland in 1880 / 1881.

Shown on her marriage certificate as Millicent Agnes Cormack but my Great Grandfathers birth cert says Amelia McCormack. He said she hated her name and had many nick names including Millie, and Amelia

Is there a way of looking at the 1881 and 1891 irish census' online to see if I can find her and if I do can irish birth certificates also be ordered?

Thanks
