Only just seen this though it's an old posting. I too would love to know more about the happening in llanegwad church and also more about the Ambroses. I am descended from Eleanor Ambrose, born 1787 in Llanegwad, daughter of William Ambrose. His father was Thomas Ambrose, so I assume that Eleanor's father is the William Thomas Ambrose who was involved in the fracas in Llanfynydd church. Perhaps they were trying to stop the wedding.
If you have information on the Ambroses I'd love to hear more.
