East Lothian (Haddingtonshire) / Re: James Learmont, Covenanter

I was surprised at Ross's post that Alexander had married Jean Foggo, (I presume he meant to say first wife, not second) but sure enough there is an entry in the records showing a marriage of Alexander Learmonth to Jean Foggo on 28 Nov 1762. By comparing the writing style, wording, and some shortening of his name Alex'dr and month of marriage Novbr, in both records, I would say that both entries were made by the same person, (minister?) and therefore (presumably) in the same parish record book.
This gives a reasonable probability that these two Alexanders were indeed the same person, unless there were two Alexanders living in the parish at the time. The Cautioners (witnesses) were William Learmonth + AN Other at the 1762 marriage, and Peter Learmonth + AN Other at the 1768 marriage. Is there any info regarding Alexander's DOB to see it this was possible? There was no record of a death for a Jean Learmonth or Foggo between 1762 and 1768.

Donald Horne Learmonth b 9 Mar 1856 married Rose Anna Manuel Houston b 1855 at Leith in 1885. They had children as follows
David Houston Learmonth b 1886, Stronsay, Orkney
Lizzie Rose Learmonth (known as Betty) b 1887 Stronsay, Orkney
Robert Learmonth b 1889 Stronsay, Orkney
Donald James Learmonth b 1890 Stronsay, Orkney
Lorenz Alexander Learmonth b 1892 Stronsay, Orkney
Janetta Anna Rose Learmonth b 1894 b Upper Scapa, Kirkwall

This confirms that Betty and Janetta were indeed sisters. As one other poster confirmed Netta emigrated to Boston in 1912. She married Fred Campbell. Not sure either regarding to comment on the following page to Alec Learmonth. Betty died in 1983 unmarried.
The family were living in Aberdeen at the time of the 1901 Census (168 Mid Stocket Road, St Machar, Aberdeen) but her father died in 1904 whilst trying to cross a fast flowing river in The Transvaal.
