No parents are listed.  Is this common for 1827?
They had a son called Patrick (and more that I havent discovered yet.)
these are my ggg-grandparents, so I would interested in any info on these
A big big thank you to all who reply

Wigtownshire / finding my ancestors in cemetries
« on: Wednesday 08 November 23 02:59 GMT (UK)  »

Hello
I am trying to find where my ancestors are buried in Wigtownshire.
James Johnston died 14 August 1882 at Bladnoch, Wigtownshire.
his wife Helen died 17 March 1898 at Wigtown, Wigtownshire.
Any other people with the same surname may also be part of my family tree.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. I don't live in Scotland
Thank you

Hello
What exactly is a workhouse in 1866, at Carrick-On-Suir?
Is this a place for poor people?

« on: Wednesday 19 October 22 04:34 BST (UK)  »
Hello, on the scots people website 1 button says ' banns and marriages", what is banns?
what is 'kirk sessions"?
census records start at 1841, so what about finding records for people before 1841?

Thanks in advance
