JoBNZ, pleased this was maybe of help. I hope you manage to unearth some information for us. :D

JoBNZ,  a little more information for you, some you may already know.  ::)
Elizabeth Cross died Jan. 1849. John Cross died Aug 1849 aged 55years.
Ann Cross remarried after George Harris to William John Watson in 1855, had a son John born 1856. She died Jan 1858.
Sophia Cross married William Hailey 1856. She died in 1857.
Eliza Cross was with William James Merryweather (can't find marriage), son Alfred William Merryeather born 1849. A death in Birmingham 1852, may be him and an Eliza Merryweather in 1851 may be her, haven't got certificates for them so not sure.
Emma cross married William Cornelious Cowley in 1860 and then William Lomas 1876. (Haven't found children).
Annie Harris married William Wilson Proctor 1873 then her cousin James H. Pounce in 1878. I think she had a son not sure of information about him.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll search through all my info as not quite at my fingertips. There was a death entry in Leicestershire for Mary when she was just young. I'll sort out it all for you, have Sophia's marriage and about a year later her death although haven't got the certificate. From memory I thought Harriett Johnstone Cross was another's birth. I had a suscription for ancestry with which I discovered a lot. I'll get back to you within the next few days. ;D

Thankyou JoBNZ, still researching and I do thankyou for the Harriett Johnstone information. I've been searching Harriett Cross and trying to find out what became of her for ages. She was definitely a daughter of John and Sarah born 1830, maybe baptised 1831. It would seem only Ann and maybe Harriett had children then. From John's second marriage it seems that only Emma survived into late adulthood having married twice. I can't find any surviving children for her though. I saw a death although haven't got the certficate for Eliza Merryweather and that she had a son which I also saw on the indexes. I always wondered if the Spencer in John Spencer Cross was a clue too.
I've been looking for Fanny Elizabeth Harris and Alfred Harris, any clues???
Thanks again for the info, I'll keep looking!!!

Patrish, Many Thanks for your reply. I know of one daughter Eliza who was born to John and Sarah(again no surname) and that was in Marylebone 1827-28 and I know that was a sister of Ann. John Cross later remarried in 1835 so I guess Sarah must have died. I do appreciate you finding a Mary who could well be a sister also. Thanks, Sivam.

I would really appreciate any help as I really have struck a brick wall! I have found the birth record  on free reg: Ann Cross-baptism 27/04/1824- father John Cross-mother Sarah. This gives me no surname for her mother. Ann (my gg grandmother) later was located in Marylebone her father a victualler. If I can find her mother's surname I think I may be able to solve some pieces of the puzzle. Marriage of John and Sarah perhaps. ???
Thankyou for any help. Sivam.

Just reading replies to Gayla about her 'John Cross' and wondering if there is a family connection with mine. By his death certificate it showed him born 1794 but I wonder now if he may be the son of James and Sarah birth 23/08/1795. His daughter was born in Barkestone and I think he was married in Nottingham, not being sure of distances I'm not sure if these areas are close. :D sivam01

Thanks t mo for taking the time to reply to my post (no joy from googled probates). Have decided to order some other certificates (I know these people are related) and see if they shed any light on other relations!

Thanks t mo. I have an ancestry.com sub-no luck there, burial record though. Checked archives ditto. but will try googling probate records. I know of one daughter (Ann) said she was born in Leicestershire 1825 but any others from that marriage appear to have been born in Marylebone.
