Hi Carol,
It’s been several years since I researched the Clark/Seattle family connection.  I will be happy to share what I have with you.  My husband’s grandfather, Arthur Robert Clark, was the direct descendent of David Clark and Isabella Kerr.  He emigrated to Kingston, Ontario, Canada in the early 1900’s.   Married a sea captain’s daughter, Agnes Buck: they had 3 sons and 1 daughter.
Two sons became doctors, the other worked in a hardware store.  The daughter became a nurse.
Arthur Robert was a prison guard at the famous Kingston penitentiary.

Forgot my password but managed to locate it!

More when we return home.   Anne

Tipperary / Prerogative Wills and Administrations 1595-1858

Hello,
I have located a possible ancestor who is listed in the index for Prerogative Wills.  He died in 1829, residence Cashel, district Waterford, diocese Cashel and Emily, class Testamentary.
I live in the USA and wonder how I might be able to obtain a copy of this document.  Would it be on LDS microfilm by any chance?  What information could it contain?
I would appreciate any assistance given.  Thank you very much in advance.  Anne

Sorry for confusing anyone with the "ca" which stands for about a certain time period.

Wondering if the first word might be a misspelling of "local"?  Which war would the Scots been involved in during the early 1800's?  Will see if I can scan a copy of the marriage record.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt replies!  I appreciate it so much.  Information as copied exactly from OPR 559/4 FR1685:  John Forsyth, Sold'r in 2 Regiment of the Lokil Malisia & Agnes Johnston, both of this Parish were both proclaimed in order to marriage June 17  (Abbey Parish records, Renfrew, Scotland)

 Any ideas?   Thanks again!  Anne

Hello,
I need the assistance of a military expert!  Anyone out there?  I have an ancestor who was a soldier in that regiment ca. 1809.  I am not familiar with military history in Scotland so would appreciate any advice on how to obtain information about this regiment.  Thank you very much.

Anne

Thank you, David, for your kind reply.  Glad to hear that my husband's uncle was NOT buried next door to you!  :)  I did receive the information that I was seeking.  I appreciate your willingness to assist.  Best wishes, Anne

Surrey Lookup Requests / Re: Can anyone help with an obituary request? Date is known

Hi,

Can't help wondering if conditions in The Infirmary, Farnham, had improved by 1920.  It was a sorry place to dwell for most of its existence but perhaps, there was a change for the better in the early 1900's.

Would be most grateful if some very kind person would see if they can locate the obituary notice I requested.  It is extremely difficult to obtain one from the US.

  Thank you!
