Monaghan / Owen Mcguirk

Hi all, i put a post on here some time ago regarding my Great Grandfather Owen Mcguirk. I knew he came from Monaghan to Liverpool sometime prior to June 1868, which was when he married Elizabeth Mullin in Liverpool and had 8 children. I have since found a Birth/Baptism record for their eldest son Thomas in the Ireland Births and Baptism records. Thomas was born/baptised on the 12th May 1869, which means his parents must have returned to Ireland for his birth. The record says, Monaghan, Monaghan, Ireland and FHL Film Number 101187. Does anybody know how, or where i could find out more about this record?  Thanks Alan..

Hi aghadowey, thanks for your reply, yes i have looked Owen up in the 1911 census, thats where i found out that he was born in County Monaghan, i have a copy of his marriage certificate to Elizabeth Mullin, Elizabeths fathers name was Edward Mullin. they both lived in Blenheim street, Liverpool at the time they wed. he died in Slade street, Liverpool in 1921. he is buried in a family grave at Ford cemetery, near Liverpool. thats as much as i have really. thanks agin.

Hi all, trying to find some more info on my great grandfather Owen Mcguirk. i know he was born in Monaghan in 1847, his fathers name was Thomas Mcguirk. unsure what year he left Ireland, but he married Elizabeth Mullin in Liverpool in 1868 and they had 8 children; Thomas, Catherine, John, James, Annie, Margaret, Elizabeth( my Grandmother) and Ellen. He died in Liverpool in 1921. havnt got anything before 1868, so kind of hit a brick wall, so any help would be great. thanks.  Alan

Hi Carole, Hi Heywood and thanks for your replies. the Casey family i had from the 1891 census, was the one you mentioned, but it has Mary as a Teacher, but on the wedding cert she has an X for her signiature, they are down as Bachelor and Spinster, Patricks occupation is what looks like an Ironsmith. thanks for the baptism site too, i have only ever had their children as; William, Patrick, john and Katie(born 1904) i never knew they also had a daughter Mary, she must have died very  young. and one thing i never noticed was that young William would have been 2 when they married, sometimes you cant see for looking! so thanks again to you both for your time and effort.  :)

Hi Carole,

Thanks for your quick response, as it was my first post I was a bit vague with the info I already have,
Her father name on the marriage cert was Patrick Casey,
Her mother Ellen was a widow on the 1901 census and living with William and Mary at the time, they had 3 sons, William, Patrick (my grandfather) and John Moran.
I can find Mary, Ellen and Patrick Casey on the 1881 census but no sign of William Moran before the 1891 marriage to Mary, as he was born in Gort in Galway I thought maybe he was still in Ireland before 1891.
If you can find out anymore info it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks again :)
Alan Moran
