Thank you shelly! Those links were so informative - although sad too! If anyone else has any info they can share it is much appreciated. I'm hopeless at searching unfortunately.

Thank you. I've edited my previous post as well to search for information about John - I know for a fact he is no longer living. I hope this is ok? If not I can delete. Ill check out whitepages now. Thanks again.

US Lookup Requests / HELP PLEASE: John McMurray, New York

Hi, I am trying to trace a John / Johnathan McMurray who was born in 1896 in Newtownhamilton, Armagh and emigrated to America around 1929. He married Ellen Fisher (born Belfast 1905) in Manhattan in 1934, and on the 1940 census they were living in Assembly District 3, Queens, New York City with their son. Here is a link to the census-

Any help is much appreciated 😃

I agree this is very difficult to trace, especially for a novice such as myself! Elsie is my g grandmother, so I know that much, I think I am def going to have to invest in some birth / death certificates, what would be the best ones to get? I am starting to wonder was Terrence born Tenant due to the death record.

Florence, Terrence's wife was born in Walsall, and they were in Wedensbury in 1911, which is very near Walsall.

There is a record of Tenant Buckland dying in 1929 in Walsall, Elsie was married in 1929, again in Walsall, so this is perhaps a good indication Tenant and Terrence were the same people .

Tiggi I would be very grateful for anything you would find, it is very kind of you for checking up for me, thank you!

Thanks for the replies, Tiggi I was wondering could Terrence be related to Thomas and James, the only thing confused me was the fact James is the same age as Terrence (25) but Terrence was born in Devon and James in Leicester?!?
Am finding this family very hard to trace, there seems to be barely any record of Terrence/Tenant b1886!

Travelling People / HELP NEEDED!
« on: Wednesday 19 January 11 22:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I have previously posted here in regards to Terrence and Florence Buckland. I came across this http://gypsyjib.wetpaint.com/page/1911*Transcriptions+-mixed+counties link which is a transcription of the 1911 census. It shows that Terrence and Florence were in Wednesbury at the time it was taken, with their two daughters Elsie and Elva, which I already knew. What I am wondering is could they be related to the other Bucklands listed on the census who were living on the same site as them? As I am finding it a nightmare to trace Terrence or Florence's parents. Terrence is only listed on the 1911 census - could he have possibly been going by a different name?

Any help or advice much appreciated!

Hi, my ggrandmother was a Romany gypsy who married a non gypsy. Her name was Elsie Buckland, she married Arthur Thompson. Her parents were Florence and Terrence Buckland, and all I know of them is what the 1911 census tells me - Terrence was a licensed hawker, born in Plymouth 1886. Florence was born in Walsall 1888. They had two children when the census was taken - Elsie and Elva both born in Darlaston.
Their address is down as - Caravan Dangerfield Lane Wednesbury, and on the original document the number of rooms is listed as a 1 room caravan.

Doe anybody have any info on this family? There is no marriage records and no further census records so it is a nightmare to trace! Thanks in advance.
