Ooops just spotted my mistake. My Father Francis James was 52 when he died in 1978 not 49. His father Francis Cuthbert was 49 when he died in 1949.

Hi there, yes, from what I remember Mable was my Grandfather, Francis Cuthbert's sister, so we must have the same Great Grandparents!
Francis Cuthbert was born on 25th of Jan 1900 in Jervis St, the son of William and Ellen Hart nee Hulme. He married Alice Edwards on 12/04/1925, and died on 1/05/1949 of a heart attack.
My father Francis James Hart was born on 13/12/1925 and died on the 20/05/1978 age 49.

I haven't looked at any of my family history info for a couple of years but I've got some info that might help you. I don't know if you've already seen it on one of the forums on here, but one very kind person looked up my relatives for me when I first started trying to trace the Hart family history.
I do remember that my Grandfather was one of 3 brothers who all died of a heart attack at a young age, they were John and William Hart. My own father died when he was 52, he just dropped dead in the street, and his sister died very suddenly 2 years later when she was 53, I must admit when I found the family history it did really worry me. I've had a quick look at my info and see that I've put a note that Mable had 2 sons and a possibly a daughter. I've got the names of the sons as John and Malcolm, I think they would have been my father's cousins, and I assume one of those your Father? It looks as if Mable must have carried the cardiac problems that were in the family history. Do you want to email me at Malcolm@mroper.fsbusiness.co.uk and I can scan any certificates that I've got, and also the family tree that I've put together so far, and send them over to you ?

Speak soon,
Sheila

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: William Heath Brunswick St., Fenton.

I have sent a personal reply, but will post on here as well so that anyone else who has searched can see the outcome.
I spoke to a long lost cousin and she told me that it was always rumoured that Mary Ann the last child born in 1899 was illegitimate and her father was an Irish man. So I then searched the years before 1899 and found William died in 1896 of a sudden thoracic aneurysm aged 47.
On the 1901 Census there is an Irish lodger so we think he might have been Mary Ann's father. I do remember my mother always telling me that Mary Ann was a catholic and she didn't know why, as the rest of the family were C of E. So again the Irish connection fits.
William moved from Warwickshire. His parents Charles and Harriet lived next door at 39. And his sister Eliza who was married to Daniel Williams lived at  37. William called his first 2 children Charles and Harriet ( my Grandmother)
Brunswick St was renamed Beville St.

Thanks to anyone who had a look around for me!

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / William Heath Brunswick St., Fenton.
« on: Friday 07 September 12 08:46 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find the Death Certificate, or burial details for my Great Grandfather William Heath of 41 Brunswick St Fenton. He was the son of Charles and Harriet Heath who lived next door at 39 Brunswick St. He was born in 1846/7/8 and died around 1899/1900.
He was married to Sarah Ann nee Woolley and they had 6 children Charles 1884, Harriet 1889 ( my Grandmother) Daniel 1891, George 1893, Eliza 1896 and Mary Ann in 1900.
He is on the 1891 Census aged 45 as a miner, but on the 1901 Census Sarah is a widow and her youngest child Mary Ann is one year old, so he must have died in 1899 or 1900. I have found and obtained the Death Certificate for Sarah Ann, she died in 1925 and we have since found her grave at Fenton Cemetery. According to the records her son Daniel age 49 is in the same plot, but there is no mention of William.
I thought I had found his records but when the Death Certificate arrived it was the wrong William Heath. The certificate that I received was for 1901 age 54, Volume 6B Page 69. There is another possibility Volume 6B page 104 but the age is 49 and that might be too young. I thought he would have been around 54 when he died.
The family lived at 41 Brunswick St from around 1881 it then changed to Beville St. My Grandmother Harriett was born in this house in 1889, my Mother Ethel was born in this house in 1923, my Great Grandmother Sarah died in the house in 1925 and both my Grandparents Harriet and William Clews died here in the mid 60's.
I spent many happy holidays there in the 60's. They didn't ever have electric put in, so there were just the gas lamps downstairs and we used a bicycle lamp to go up to bed. As children we didn't realise the history that went with this little terraced house. It's since been demolished and there are new houses on the site...such a shame!

Any help in finding the last resting place of my Great Grandfather would be very much appreciated.

I've managed to trace my father's, father's family, it's quite sad with a lot of early deaths!  :'( I've had a bit of a delay getting certificates for his mother's, mother's family, and was actually sent the wrong certificate.
But the correct one arrived this morning ( I think )
My Great Grandmother Alice Miller married William Edwards in 1901 in Longton. She had 4 children Alice ( my Grandmother) in 1902, Ethel in 1904, William in 1907, and Fanny in 1909, unfortunately  GGrandmother Alice died in 1909 possibly in childbirth.
Grandmother Alice married Francis Cuthbert Hart in 1925

The marriage certificate that I received today says her father was Thomas Miller. It also says Alice was 21 which would put her birth at 1880. I had thought she was the daughter of Robert Miller from the 1881 census, and I can't find anything for a Thomas Miller. It states his profession as Carter ( I think, the writing isn't very clear) of 1 Gate St ( again I think it's Gate St)  ???
Any help would be most appreciated!

I'm not sure I've posted this in the right place!

I've traced the relatives of William Hart and actually spoken to a very elderly relative. I'm going to write to them and get some further information on my Grandfather's side of the family.  :D Hopefully they can remember my Grandfather's brothers and sisters.

I've just been to the Census website and bought the credits. When I put in Francis Cuthbert I couldn't find anything but when I put in Frank, as you had mentioned it, I found 1 result.
The page shows the address as 4 Lord St., Longton which is the same as my father's birth certificate. I assume the family moved there from Jervis St. It also shows that as well as Ethel 20, John 19, Mable 13, Frank C 11 and William 9,  there were 2 more children Martha A age 7 and Ellen S age 2.
I'll apply for my Grandmother's birth certificate on Tuesday, the last one came within 2 days so I should be able to find out more very soon.

Wow, I can't believe how much information you have managed to find in such a short space of time, that's incredible, thank you so much.
It's taken me a while to get my brain around it all!  :D But I think I can see how it all works now!
Where is the best place to look to find out what happened to Francis Cuthbert's brothers John and Edward? I've noticed that not all the records are on the StaffordshireBMD site.
I'll have to check out the Census website. I'm finding this so interesting I can't believe I haven't researched it before. Having absolutely no knowlege of my Grandparents, not even their christian names has been very odd. My father very rarely spoke about them, apart from saying he didn't think he would live much past 50 as his father had died so young. My father Francis James actually died of a heart attack when he was 52, 33 years ago, and his sister Evelyn died 2 years later at 53. When you reach a similar age it can tend to play on your mind! :-\
Then a couple of weeks ago I decided to apply for his birth certificate, I had a look around google and found the BMD websites and a quick search soon found his parents and their dates of birth etc.
We also have Muscular Dystrophy in the family. This is usually genetic but we can't trace where it has come from as we had no knowledge of our ancestors. But I suspect this has come from my Grandmother's side, so it would be very interesting to find out who her family members were/are!

The Birth, Death and Marriage certificates should arrive in the next few days, I'll let you know what info they give! Thank you again for all your help! :D
