Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Margarett Rees
« on: Tuesday 12 August 14 17:49 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a Margarett Rees born about 1640. I found the baptism for one that fits the time frame on the Mormon Church Family Search website whose father was Rees Evan and the location was St. Thomas, Swansea, Glamorgan. We have her Bible - written in Welsh - and it has her name handwritten and dated 1712, a couple years before she died, that has been handed down through the family all these years. I am wondering if there is a place I can find out if this family ever left Glamorgan for the American colonies sometime between her birth and 1660.
Thank you!
Susie

Thanks a million! Do you know of anywhere I can find out more about this family--such, did they emigrate to the American colonies?

I am looking for the family of Margarett Rees born about 1640. She may have emigrated as a child with her parents or she may have been orphaned before leaving Wales.
It isn't much to go on but any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you, but my Richard came to America on the "Defence" in 1635. He is on a passenger list with his wife Margery and two daughters, Elizabeth and Isabel.

There are several dates of birth floating around for Richard Parke, none of which have a proof. There are some christenings in various places in England, but no proof that it is the right person. In a Parke family history there is a statement that says he could be the son of Thomas Parke of the Isle of Ely. The one thing that makes me give this more thought is that Richard named his first son "Thomas."
Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your help.
